This Wednesday, February 28, 2018 (7:00 PM Pacific) Club America will host Deportivo Saprissa at the Estadio Azteca for the second leg of a CONCACAF Champions League Round of 16 match. Las Aguilas are likely to advance to the quarterfinals of the competition regardless of the score in this game with a massive 5-1 lead on aggregate.

Club America has been one of the best if not the best team in the Liga MX this season and it did display that in the first leg of this series. Los Azulcremas came away with a 5-1 win in Costa Rica against Saprissa and should be able to add to that scoreline in this return leg. Miguel Herrera used several notable players in that first leg like Oribe Peralta, Guido Rodriguez, Mateus Uribe and Bruno Valdez but may rest some players with such a substantial lead.

Deportivo Saprissa is currently third in the Costa Rican league with 22 points and is coming off a 1-0 loss against Santos de Guapiles in domestic play. Players like David Ramirez, Daniel Colindres and Christian Bolanos will really need to step up in the attack to try and make some sort of unimaginable comeback in Mexico City. It is very unlikely but Saprissa has a solid team and is well respected in the CONCACAF region for always being in the mix in these competitions.

Club America vs Deportivo Saprissa Prediction

Saprissa is highly unlikely to make a comeback but could at least make Club America struggle in this specific game. FutnSoccer predicts a narrow 2-1 win for Club America at the Estadio Azteca with an alternate squad in play against the Costa Rican side.
