This Tuesday, February 27, 2018 (5:00 PM Pacific) Tigres UANL will host Herediano at the Estadio Universitario for the second leg of a round-of-16 CONCACAF Champions League fixture. The first leg ended 2-2 in Costa Rica but this second leg should prove to be a distinct encounter with a much more efficient Mexican side.
Tigres UANL arguably has the best squad in the CONCACAF region with players like Andre-Pierre Gignac, Enner Valencia and Eduardo Vargas along with the best coach in Ricardo Ferretti. Los Felinos had a 2-0 lead towards the end of that first leg but fell apart in the last few minutes of the match and came away with the draw.
The draw still favors Tigres with the away goal tiebreaker, and the home-field advantage in this second leg. The current Liga MX champions are coming from a 2-1 win against Monarcas Morelia in the Liga MX and should ride on that momentum heading into this match.

Herediano is currently top of the Costa Rican league with 27 points and is coming from a 2-1 win against Carmelita. The Central American side’s attack includes a couple of Mexican players in Luis Angel Landin and Omar Arellano.
The pair did not have much of an impact in the first leg but will be two of the main players to watch in this match for the away team. Herediano is a solid team but it will be tough to get a favorable result in Nuevo Leon against Ricardo Ferretti’s team.
Tigres UANL vs Herediano Prediction
The first leg was a hard-fought and intense clash that ended in a deadlock but this game should be fairly different at the Estadio Universitario. FutnSoccer predicts a comfortable 3-1 win for Tigres UANL resulting in the Mexican team advancing to the quarterfinals of the competition.
