Los Blancos head into matchday 26 sat on 3rd position in the standings, 14 points behind table topping Barcelona, and while they are favorites to make it to the Champions League last-8 ahead of PSG following their 3-1 first leg win, local dominance remains top of their plans.

A key position Madrid might be looking to strengthen ahead of next season is the goalkeeping department, with Manchester United’s David De Gea and Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois their top targets.

Despite helping them to back-to-back Champions League title, the Spanish giants still believe they can get an upgrade on Keylor Navas in one of the aforementioned Premier League duo.

DeGea and Courtois both cut their teeth at Atletico Madrid before going on to establish themselves as some of the best safe hands in the world in England, so they bring valuable experience to the table having already played in La Liga.

However, Madrid don’t need to spend on another goalie, as Navas has continued to prove himself all over again this term.

The 31-year-old Costa Rica international kept his 5th La Liga clean sheet of the season in his 17th appearance on Saturday as Madrid strolled to a 4-nil victory over Alaves.

Considering how weak Zinedine Zidane’s defence has been this term, managing to keep his side in the lead in most of the games played of recent, is a brilliant achievement for Navas, and a clean sheet is even much more a great feat.

At his age, the Costa Rica star still has as many as 4 to 5 years of top quality in him, and there is just no need to replace him now.

Other positions could do with a couple of additions over the next transfer window, but not the goalkeeper’s, as Real Madrid have a great player in Navas.

Not even a poor general domestic campaign for the club has been able to overshadow how great he has remained in goal.
