Liverpool reportedly face competition from EPL rivals for the highly-rated 26-year-old defender

The Daily Mirror have broadcasted the news from the Italian outlet Il Messagero regarding the future of in-demand Lazio defender Stefan De Vrij.

Liverpool have shown interest in signing the highly regarded centre-back, but according to the latest reports, Manchester United and Chelsea have also entered the race.

The 26-year-old is yet to pen a new deal that is set to expire at the end of the season. Italian champions, Juventus, have also been tracking De Vrij for quite some time, especially after the departure of Leonardo Bonucci.

Nonetheless Liverpool, are currently leading the chase, as manager Jurgen Klopp is trying to bring a top-class defender to partner Virgil Van Dijk.

The former Feyenoord man has proven to be one of the best defenders in Serie A since he arrived at the Stadio Olimpico, and the Biancocelesti are going to fight tooth and nail to keep him.
