According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Watford man Abdoulaye Doucoure, with Liverpool also understood to be in the race for the powerful central midfielder.
The 25-year-old Frenchman, who arrived at Vicarage Road from Rennes for a fee of £8 million back in 2016, has been a revelation this season along with Brazilian winger Richarlison.
With seven goals and three assists, he is one of the most productive midfield players in the Premier League.
And, it seems that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was watching Monday’s game at Stamford Bridge, where the Hornets demolished Chelsea 4-1, to observe Doucoure, who was one of the best players on the pitch.
The Argentinean manager is looking to make some changes in the midfield next summer, as Vincent Wanyama has struggled with injury, and Moussa Dembele is not getting any younger.
However, the Spurs won’t get Watford man without splashing big money, especially if Jurgen Klopp intensifies the pressure to replace Emre Can.
