Everton new-boy Theo Walcott has taken to Twitter to express his feelings after Olivier Giroud left Arsenal to join Chelsea on transfer deadline-day.
Both players were key parts of the Arsenal side during the last few years but were forced to leave the Gunners last month in order to play regular football and revive their chances of playing in the world cup for England and France respectively.
Walcott meanwhile has enjoyed a tremendous start to life at the Toffees and scored a brace this week to guide his side to a 2-1 victory over Leicester.
Giroud will be hoping to have a similar impact at Chelsea who are out of form, particularly in front of goal where the Frenchman’s expertise and experience will be needed.
Walcott took to Twitter and wished Giroud well. He wrote: “Best of luck to a great team mate, top player & most of all a good friend @_OlivierGiroud_”
