West Ham youngster makes a return back to Germany

West Ham youngster Reece Oxford has re-joined German club Borussia Monchengladbach for the second half of the season.

Oxford spent the first half of the season with the Bundesliga club and though he only managed four appearances, they were reportedly impressed with what they have seen, so much so that they have considered signing him permanently.

Oxford was recalled by the Hammers earlier on during the month due to the clubs injury problems and he has since featured in two FA Cup games as well as during the final minutes of Tuesday’s 1-1 Premier League draw with Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

‘We wish Reece all the best for the second half of his loan spell with Borussia Monchengladbach,’ read a statement on whufc.com.

Oxford meanwhile is on contract at the London Stadium till the summer of 2021 after signing a long-term deal with the Hammers on his 18th birthday in 2016.
