Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has spoken out about why he did not sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabon international is one of the most feared forwards in world football and ended up completing a move to Arsenal on Wednesday.
His presence will be a huge boost to the Gunners after they lost Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United this month.
Many Liverpool fans would have been hoping that Klopp would sign Aubameyang to complement Mohamed Salah especially as the club now has finances to play with after selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona earlier on during this month.
However as Klopp has Roberto Firmino to call upon, he does not see a need to sign Aubameyang.
“Auba is really a good guy,” the Liverpool boss told the Independent. “Of course, reading the newspapers, you ask yourself if all these things must happen.
“But in fact things are mostly not that controversial as they are presented. In the end everybody will be happy.
“In the first half of the season he also scored often although last summer he wanted to go to China allegedly. He is a great player but he does not play in a position for which we urgently need new players.”
