West Ham reportedly looking to complete deal for £2.4million striker before transfer deadline

As per The Scottish Sun, SPFL side Dundee are looking to land £2.4million West Ham striker Toni Martinez on loan till the end of the season.

Manager David Moyes wants the Hammers under-23 prolific striker to get more experience having only played once for the senior team this term, and a move north of the border could be on the cards.

Martinez, formerly of Valencia B, had a loan spell at Oxford United last season, and a move to a topflight league like the Scottish’s could go a long way in preparing him for the future.

There have been calls for the 20-year-old, who has 9 Premier League 2 goals, to be included regularly in the senior team matchday squads, but the club and manager reckon he could do with a loan spell before he comes of age.

West Ham are currently short of attacking depth at the moment, though, and that could force them into holding on to Martinez if a striker isn’t signed before transfer deadline.
