According to Ladbrokes, Leeds are clear favorites to complete the signing of Celtic striker Moussa Dembele before the winter transfer deadline ahead of the likes of Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Brighton and West Ham.
The 21-year-old was a subject of a rejected £12million bid from the Seagulls last week, and it would take much more for cash-strapped Leeds to prise him away from Parkhead.
Dembele is keen on leaving the Scottish topflight for England where his chances of making the French squad to the summer World Cup are higher, but it doesn’t seem a move is on the cards.
The former Fulham man has unfinished business in the Championship, and after netting 41 goals in 72 appearances since the start of last season for Celtic, he could be the ideal finisher to fire Leeds to the Premier League.
The Elland Road outfit could do with a lethal striker as they look to secure a playoffs spot before May, and Tuesday’s goalless draw against Hull City – the 4th game a side yet to win in 2018 has failed to score in this year – will only make manager Thomas Christiansen wishing and dreaming he lands someone like Dembele.
