Brendan Rodgers determined to keep club’s biggest star

The Daily Star have broadcasted the words of the Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, who seems determined to keep his best player, Moussa Dembele, despite interest from several Premier League clubs.

Brighton & Hove Albion have been trying to take the Frenchman south of the border for months, but it seems they failed to convince the 21-year-old striker to move to Falmer Stadium.

One of the most prolific goalscorers in the UK, Dembele is an indispensable first-team player for manager Brendan Rodgers, and the former Liverpool boss is making his best efforts to keep him in the squad until the end of the season.

The Hoops are short of options in the offensive department following some injury problems suffered by Leigh Griffiths and relatively unconvincing performances from Odsonne Edouard.

Therefore, the former Fulham man is the only reliable choice for the striker’s role, and Rodgers can’t replace him in the final stage of the winter transfer market.
