Liverpool reportedly chasing powerful 28-year-old EPL striker

According to the Birmingham Mail, West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon could move during the final stage of the January transfer market, with Liverpool, Chelsea, and Wolverhampton Wanderers all competing for his signature.

Betvictor have placed those three clubs as favorites to take the former Zenit St Petersburg bomber before Wednesday, naming the Reds as foremost candidates.

The 28-year-old Venezuela international arrived at The Hawthorns from the Russian giants back in 2015, immediately establishing himself as a regular first-team member. He is known for physical strength and his heading ability, combined with solid technique and lethal finishing.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is searching for some attacking reinforcement after the loss of Philippe Coutinho. However, the powerful forward is highly-rated by WBA manager Alan Pardew, who seems hesitant about letting him leave this January.

Rondon is a classic old-school striker that can function as a target-man, something that Liverpool have been missing since Fernando Torres left the club.
