As per Turkish Football, Stoke City are closing in on sealing a £14million deal for wantaway Galatasaray midfielder Badou Ndiaye, but Newcastle are still keen and have tabled a bid.
The Toons were keen on the Senegalese international last summer before he chose to remain in Turkey after leaving Osmanlıspor.
The 27-year-old has already submitted a transfer request, was omitted from the matchday squad that faced Osmanlispor on Saturday and Gala are ready to sanction a sale before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
Ndiaye has already proven himself in the Turkish Super Lig and would be a hit in the English topflight given his abilities.
Newcastle need a quality box-to-box midfielder capable of delivering both defensively and offensively, and the Senegal man fits the bill.
The former Bodø/Glimt star is an excellent dribbler and tackler, and has weighed in a goal and 3 assists in 17 league games this term.
A Premier League move is on the cards this month for Ndiaye, and Newcastle would clinch a great deal beating Stoke to his signature.
