Everton reportedly keen on landing 26-year-old ball-playing centre-back

As per Daily Mail, Everton are keen on Hoffenheim captain and centre-back Kevin Vogt as manager Sam Allardyce wants to make things tighter at the back.

The Toffees have shipped the most goals (39) of the top 9 teams on the Premier League log, and just 4 other teams have conceded more since the start of the campaign.

The ageing defence surely could do with fresher legs, and the ball-playing 26-year-old seems like a great prospect.

With just 3 days to go in the January transfer window, it doesn’t seem a late swoop is on the cards. A move for Vogts is believed to be in Everton’s summer plans instead.

The former Germany youth international impressed and first caught the eyes of the Merseysiders during Hoffenheim’s Champions League play-off first leg against Liverpool in August, and he hasn’t put in a bad performance since.

While the Bundesliga outfit aren’t a selling club, the chance to move abroad and prove himself could be exciting to Vogt, and his abilities are tailor-made for the English topflight.

He isn’t only good in bringing the ball out from the back having completed 89% of his passes in 23 games this term, the former FC Augsburg is also excellent at putting his body on the line to block the ball, while his concentration level is perfect for a side like Everton.
