West Ham reportedly will have to pay £18million to land 23-year-old Spain international

According to The Sun, West Ham need to bring at least £18million to the negotiation table to have a chance of landing Barcelona forward Gerard Deulofeu.

The Hammers, alongside a host of other suitors, have been linked with a winter transfer move for the 23-year-old winger, but beating competition to his signature will be stiff.

Deulofeu has struggled to force his way into first team reckoning at Camp Nou since returning last summer, and the presences of Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele will further deprive him of playing minutes going forward.

A return to England could be pleasing to the former Everton winger, while Napoli are also keen on bringing him back to Italy following an impressive stint with AC Milan last term.

West Ham could do with more depth on the wings, and Deulofeu has what it takes to improve their attack given his skills and potential.

His £18million asking price could be a stumbling block for the Hammers, though, but attacking reinforcements remain top priority at the London Stadium considering their frequent injury woes and imminent exits in the department this month.
