According to talkSPORT, Everton are looking to beat both Manchester United and West Ham to the signing of Anderlecht midfielder Leander Dendoncker before the winter transfer window closes.
The Toffees reckon the 22-year-old Belgian can help further strengthen their depth in the middle of the park, and are even keen on waiting till next summer before getting their man.
With Anderlecht not willing to lose Dendoncker at this point of the campaign and also ahead of what will be a crucial season given the huge role he is currently playing, Everton are ready to loan the £20million-rated midfielder back to them until the end of the Premier League season.
The Hammers and Red Devils have watched the youngster all campaign, but it’s the Merseysiders that are ahead of the queue due to their more enticing proposition.
The defensive midfielder can also play in centre-back, and his versatility would be beneficial at Goodison Park if a move is completed.
Dendoncker could also be a quality long-term addition given his age, and could help establish a solid foundation for the new project Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri dreams of.
