According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce is hopeful of completing the loan of Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa despite recent claims Crystal Palace might capture the player in front of his nose.
The Lions are desperately trying to bolster their attacking rank after the injury of club’s best striker Jonathan Kodjia. However, so far the Foxes seemed unwilling to approve the transfer.
According to the latest reports, Leicester will not permit both Islam Slimani and Leonardo Ulloa leave the King Power Stadium this January despite both of them have been sidelined by the manager Claude Puel over the last six months.
Newcastle United are interested in signing Slimani, and in case they succeed in their quest, Villa will have to consider other options.
Ulloa is a proven striker who could bring the firepower Villa need. Hence, if Steve Bruce strives to keep his team competitive in the Premier League promotion race, he will have to act swiftly.
