Rangers reportedly to return with 2nd bid for top target

The Scottish Sun claims that Rangers are preparing to make another bid for Hamilton midfielder Greg Docherty after their £325,000 opening offer was knocked back.

Despite already securing 4 deals this window, Light Blues boss Graeme Murty wants the 21-year-old as he looks to add quality depth to his ranks.

Both parties are expected to agree on a deal before the end of the week, but the Accies are looking include a sell-on clause having gained from the transfers of academy graduates James McCarthy and James McArthur in the past.

Docherty could prove to be the final piece of the puzzle needed at Ibrox given their recent winter transfer activities.

A 2nd place finish in the Premiership remains the target, with Rangers just 3 points behind Aberdeen as the league resumes from its winter break with both clashing on Wednesday night.

Docherty is also on the radar of Welsh duo Swansea and Cardiff, but the Gers are poised to land their man once they meet Hamilton’s demands.
