According to a report published by ESPN, West Ham are interested in signing Fabian Ruiz from Real Betis this month.
Following strong displays in the La Liga this season, the Spanish international is attracting interest from clubs across Europe.
Hammers manager David Moyes reportedly scouted Ruiz during Betis’s clash with Barcelona this weekend and was also said to be willing to meet his release clause of €15 million if he liked what he saw.
While Betis lost the game 5-0, their performance during the first half was commendable before they were outclassed by the runaway La Liga leaders during the second period.
The Spain under-21 international Ruiz is capable of playing at the centre of the park or as a more advanced playmaker.
The Hammers have been linked with a number of players this month as Moyes looks to reinforce an area of his side which is in need of improvement.
