According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle are interested in bringing out-of-favour Everton striker Sandro Ramirez to Tyneside on a loan deal.
The 22-year-old Spain youth international arrived Goodison Park last summer for £5.2million, but has failed to live up to expectations, with his only goal till date coming in the dead-rubber Europa League clash against Atalanta.
Everton are ready to let the former Barcelona man leave for £8.8million, but Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez is hoping he can him temporarily for a £2million loan fee while also paying his £100,000-per-week wages.
Although Ramirez is a far cry from the player that bagged 16 La Liga goals for Malaga last term, a run of games at Newcastle could get him back on track.
Everton boss Sam Allardyce has claimed: “He’s had two or three chances. I can’t give him any more chances than that because my job is about getting results on the pitch.”, but that luxury could be available at Saint James’ Park.
Considering Newcastle are cash-strapped at the moment, though, it remains to be seen if they can afford a £2million loan fees and Ramirez’s wages.
