Aston Villa reportedly set to block transfer of outcast

The Sport Witness have broadcasted the news from Italian portal TMW (TuttoMercatoWeb) regarding the future of Aston Villa midfielder Birkir Bjarnason, who is targeted by the Serie B’ side Parma Calcio.

According to the recent reports, Parma have already reached the agreement with the Iceland international over a January transfer, but they are yet to find the deal with the Villa’ officials.

The 29-year-old midfielder has arrived at Villa Park last January from Basel in a 2 million deal, and club’ representatives are not willing to lower their claims as they are looking to recover the invested money.

Bjarnason failed to make an impact ever since he arrived, and he already received the permission from manager Steve Bruce to leave the club.

Parma manager Roberto D’Aversa wants to strengthen his squad, as the Emilians are fighting for the Serie A promotion after falling into the 4th division as a result of a financial crash.

The former Pescara player reiterated his desire to move back to Italy, where he has also performed for Sampdoria.

However, the transfer is on hold because Perma have to meet the demands of the Championship club.
