Manager says Liverpool target could cost as much as £100million

Leicester City manager Claude Puel has claimed that Liverpool target Riyadh Mahrez could cost as much as £100 million during the summer.

Mahrez’s form has undergone a resurgence since Puel was appointed as manager of the Foxes earlier on this season and after indicating that he would like a fresh challenge last summer, there is no doubt that many clubs will be vying for the services of the Algerian.

The likes of Arsenal, Barcelona and AS Roma have all in the past been linked with the 26-year-old who has contributed to 17 goals for his club this season from 26 games in all competitions.

“Maybe in the summer he will cost even more than £100m,” Puel told reporters. “It’s just rumours, noise about him.

“We can see Riyad smile, enjoying his football, enjoying to play with his team-mates. After the training session he continues to play, I wanted him to stay rested, but it’s perfect.”
