According to a report published by the Bournemouth Echo, Cardiff City may have moved ahead of Wolves and Aston Villa in the race to sign Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban as they have opened talks with the Cherries over a possible deal.
The 29-year-old spent the first half of the season with Championship strugglers Sunderland and was in good form as he went on to score 12 goals.
His form has attracted a host of Championship clubs including Bristol City, Fulham, Middlesbrough, Cardiff, Aston Villa and leaders Wolves.
Bournemouth are prepared to let Grabban leave the club but would prefer if he left on a permanent basis rather than on loan.
Grabban has certainly been in good form this season as was seen by his performances for Sunderland.
However he has proven throughout his career to be an inconsistent performer and it will not be assured that he will carry on scoring goals during the second half of the season.
