Rangers reportedly on the verge of signing Scottish defender

Sky Sports have reported the news regarding the imminent transfer of Russell Martin from Norwich City to Rangers on a loan deal. According to the same source, Martin has already landed in Glasgow for medical checks and concluding the deal.

Martin arrived at Carrow Road from Peterborough United back in 2010, establishing himself as a regular first-team player. After the majestic performances in ‘Canaries’ shirt, he deserved a captain’s armband.

However, his days in Norwich are numbered as he has struggled for regular first team football this season and January transfer seems inevitable. The 32-year-old defender has been sidelined by the manager Daniel Farke to playing only five games in Championship this season.

Martin now looks set for a move to Rangers. The former Wycombe Wanderers defender could bring the necessary experience and stability to the shaky Rangers defense.

Rangers have been very active in this transfer market, as they have already signed some high-profile players, but manger Graeme Murty is not willing to stop yet. The Scottish coach is now looking to boost his backline by signing the experienced centre-half.
