Leeds reportedly looking to pip Everton to signing of sensational teenage playmaker

According to the Daily Star, Leeds United are interested in bringing Forest Green Rovers attacking midfielder Jordan Stevens to Elland Road this month.

However, they face tough competition for the signature of the 17-year-old sensation as Premier League duo Everton and Brighton are also keen.

Stevens has been the bright light for the struggling League 2 side this term, with his 13 appearances across all competitions suggesting he has the potential to break into the upper tiers soon.

Leeds have made strengthening their under-23’s as much as they do the first team top priority, and it’s believed the English winger could be next to join the list of arrivals at the Yorkshire club development squad.

They will have to beat Everton to Stevens’ signing, though.

The Toffees have also prioritized the signing of youngsters, and actually do give them a chance to feature regularly in the first-team if they can prove themselves within a short while.

Both teams should be going head-to-head for the services of the highly-rated Stevens in the coming days.
