Celtic reportedly keen on loan deal for highly-promising England youth international

Celtic vs Hearts

According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are interested in having Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker on loan till the end of the campaign.

The 22-year-old has been on loan at English Championship side Middlesbrough since the start of the campaign, but may be recalled this month having not played a league game since September.

Chelsea will be very much open to loaning out Baker till May, and while Celtic have a chance, they will need to beat stiff competition to the signature of the England youth international.

The Hoops can do with more quality legs in the middle of the park, and the English youngster boasts of the experience, creativity and skills.

Baker has had loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday, Milton Keynes Dons and Eredivisie side Vitesse, winning the KNVB Cup with the latter last term following a 2-season loan.

With regular playing time on offer at Parkhead, Chelsea will be keener to see the development of the youngster continue under manager Brendan Rodgers, and a deal could be gotten over the line if both parties come to an agreement.
