According to the Daily Mail, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is considering a move for Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker, currently on loan at Championship’ side Middlesbrough.

Goal.com claims that the ‘Blues’ could bring the youngster back to Stamford Bridge this January just to send him on another loan.

The 22-year-old midfielder has spent the first half of the season on loan at the Riverside Stadium, playing only ten matches. So, he could leave Boro for some regular first-team action.

The former Vitesse player is a right-footed central midfielder, known for his strength and passing abilities.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to improve his squad ahead of the knockout stage battle with Zenit St Petersburg.

After unconvincing performances from Olivier Ntcham and Stuart Armstrong, Rodgers believes Baker could be a good addition to Tom Rogic, James Forrest, and Scott Brown.

The story is just a rumor for now, as there are still no confirmations by any side.
