West Ham defender Pablo Zabaleta has spoken about a conversation which he shared with Marko Arnautovic which has helped to inspire the Austrian’s recent run of fantastic form.
Arnautovic initially struggled during the early parts of the season but has been good since David Moyes was appointed as manager of the Hammers in November.
He again delivered an outstanding display this weekend as West Ham overcame Huddersfield 4-1 and in addition to scoring one goal during the game, he also provided three assists as Manuel Lanzini scored a brace and Mark Noble also got on the score sheet.
Full-back Pablo Zabaleta said: “I remember the first time I met him at West Ham, we were talking about the many games we’d played against each other.
“I said to him: ‘Marko, when you are on your day, I think you are one of the best players, for sure. It’s hard for defenders to play against you, because you are strong, you are good on the ball.
“‘But you have to be on your game. You have to keep focused. And if you do this, then you have enough quality to make the difference.’”
