Frank Lampard has said that Everton boss Sam Allardyce was correct to criticize his players for a lack of professionalism after they fell to a 4-0 defeat against Tottenham on Saturday.
After starting life on a promising note under Allardyce, the Toffees are once again on a poor run of form which is symbolic of their season thus far and they have lost their last four games in all competitions.
The public criticism of the Everton players is not an approach which many managers take or would agree with but Lampard believes that Allardyce was correct to do what he did.
The Chelsea legend said: “He’s gone strong there, and I think he’s right. It’s made easy by Everton and their sloppy and disorganised defending.”
Everton are currently in ninth position on the Premier League standings and next face off against strugglers West Brom.
