Chris Sutton has given his thoughts on why Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has struggled this season.
Dembele is one of the key players within the Hoops first team and scored 32 goals last season as the went on to win the domestic treble while being unbeaten in the process.
The France-Under 21 international has however been inconsistent this season and has been linked with a January exit from the Scottish giants.
A report published by the Daily Mail has revealed that Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in signing him as well as West Ham and Everton.
Sutton does not believe that Dembele’s form this season is due to the speculation surrounding his future. Rather he believes that the youngster has struggled due to injuries.
“He has been nowhere near the same player but I wouldn’t buy any talk from the manager that he could be affected by transfer talk and that it could have an unsettling effect,” Sutton wrote about Dembele in The Daily Record.
“Dembele’s problem has been he was hammered early in the season by a recurrence of an injury and has barely made two consecutive appearances since returning.”
