The Daily Express have broadcasted the news from Argentinean outfit La Nacion about the possible interest from Liverpool in Atalanta playmaker Alejandro Papu Gomez.
La Nacion suggested that Gomez might a replacement for departed Philippe Coutinho and that the estimated value of the transfer could be around £53 million.
Papu Gomez has arrived in Bergamo from Metalist Kharkiv back in 2014 and has been demonstrating all his skills and potential ever since.
Gomez is a technically gifted player and has excellent vision combined with great passing ability. He also possesses a powerful right foot and is very dangerous in one-on-one situations.
The impressive performances in Serie A have earned him a captain’s armband, and a national team call for the Argentine national team.
That said, this news should be taken with a grain of salt, because ‘Papu’ is already 29-year-old, and £53 million is a huge price tag for a player who realistically only has ‘2, 3 seasons left in his legs.
