Liverpool FC are interested in the signature of Algerian star Riyan Mahrez, who could be the replacement for Philippe Coutinho – according to reports.
Liverpool sold Coutinho earlier in the summer transfer window for a record fee of around £142million and as a result, the Reds are now looking to find a suitable replacement for the flamboyant Brazilian.
Although many players have been mentioned such as Thomas Lemar and Alexis Sanchez as replacements for Coutinho, the most realistic player the Merseyside club could sign this window is Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.
The Algerian has displayed some fantastic performances for the Foxes and will prove to be a quality signing for the Reds should he move to the English giants.
However, there are still questions marks about how Mahrez will fit into this Liverpool squad as the 26-year-old is more of a winger than a midfield playmaker and the Reds already have adequate competition in the position.
