Everton reportedly close to sealing winter move for England under-20 international

As per The South London Press, Everton are set to complete a £4million move for Charlton Athletic centre-back Ezri Konsa in the coming days.

The 20-year-old versatile starlet has been on the radar of the Toffees for a while following several scouting missions, but after impressing Chief Scout Martyn Glover last month, the club decided landing him this month is top priority.

Konsa has already broken into the England under-20 fold due to his talent, and even earned unusual praises from Charlton’s boss Karl Robinson who said of him: “He’s the best young centre-back in the country. There’s nobody at his age better than him. Fact.”

Considering Everton’s ageing backline, Konsa represents a huge long-term prospect.

That he’s also capable of playing as a fullback and in deep midfield makes him a great asset for the Merseysiders if a deal for him can be gotten over the line.

Having featured in over 50 games for the League 1 outfit over the course of the last two seasons, Konsa remains capable of proving himself in the first team immediately, and he could be joining the current crop of Everton youngsters proving themselves on the big stage.
