West Ham manager Moyes admits top talent could leave this month

West Ham manager David Moyes has admitted that youngster Reece Oxford could be sent out on loan for the second half of the season but added that this will depend on the business that the Hammers do this month.

Oxford spent the first half of the season in Germany, having been on loan with Borussia Monchengladbach. The Bundesliga club reportedly wanted to sign him for £10 million as did RB Leipzig.

The Hammers opted to bring the youngster back to the London Stadium this month. The teenager sprained an ankle upon returning to the club and could play during the Hammers FA Cup third round replay against Shrewsbury Town next Tuesday.

When asked about the situation of the player, Moyes said: “Reece trained today for the first time. He came back and hurt his foot.

“I don’t think you should sell your best young players. Could he leave on loan again? Possibly but that will be determined by business done throughout the window really.”
