Week 2 of the Liga MX Clausura 2018 will continue this Friday, January 12, 2018 (7:00 PM Pacific) when Xolos of Tijuana host Necaxa at the Estadio Caliente. Neither team was able to earn a win in the first week, therefore this is due to be an intense game in a difficult stadium at the border city.
Xolos of Tijuana will host their first match at home this season in a game they are urged to win. While the season is young, new coach Diego Cocca will want to earn his first win in the Liga MX, and what better way than at home. Considering that Tijuana earned only 3 home wins last season under Eduardo Coudet, Cocca knows that in order to reach the playoffs, they must make their home stance count.
Some good news for Xolos this Friday is that star forward Gustavo Bou will be back in the starting lineuo after fully recovering from a minor injury. On the other hand, reports coming from Argentina suggest that defender Alejandro Donatti is close to signing with Racing de Avellaneda where Coudet now coaches.
Just like Tijuana, Necaxa tied last week at home by a 0-0 score against relegation favorites Veracruz. The team coached by Ignacio Ambriz will have a very difficult visit at the Estadio Caliente where Xolos are always a difficult host. The hidrorayados must earn a win to begin the season on a strong note if they wish to become early postseason contenders.
