Celtic boost as UEFA Youth League-winning attacker is cleared for January exit

Celtic vs Hearts

Celtic have been boosted in their pursuit of Chelsea starlet Charly Musonda, with the Premier League giants ready to sanction a temporary exit for the attacker this month.

The 21-year-old is frustrated with his lack of playing minutes at Stamford Bridge having made just 2 league substitution appearances this term, and the Blues, not willing to lose the highly-talented Belgian, want him to go continue his development elsewhere.

A couple of EPL sides are in the race to land Musonda on loan till May, with many expected to join, but Celtic could have an upper hand for 2 reasons.

The Hoops can guarantee the winger regular action, while European football is also on offer as they prepare to face Zenit St Petersburg next month in the Europa League round-of-32.

Musonda could help make Celtic even more formidable in the final third, and he did prove his ability once again of recent, scoring a brace for Chelsea’s Under-21s against Portsmouth in the Checkatrade Trophy.

The talented youngster has won the UEFA Youth League, F.A Youth Cup, and Premier League 2 with the Chelsea Reserves, and could be playing a huge role in helping Celtic defend the remaining 2 of the domestic treble they won last term if a move go through.
