Liverpool reportedly keen on signing 27-year-old to replace Emre Can

Liverpool are believed to be interested in replacing the outgoing midfielder Emre Can with Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman, according to reports.

Liverpool look set to lose soon to be out of contract midfielder Emre Can for free at the end of the season to Juventus in a move which will arguably be a big blow for the Premier League outfit both on the pitch as well as in financial terms.

This has led the Reds to look for new players to replace the German midfielder and it seems like the Merseyside clubs have finally identified their target.

According to reports, it is believed that Liverpool have targeted Roma’s Kevin Strootman as their ideal candidate to replace Can and the Reds are already preparing a bid to land the Dutchman at the end of the season.

Signing Strootman will be a coup for Liverpool as the Netherlands international will be an upgrade to the German – should the 27-year-old manage to maintain his fitness level.
