Liverpool boost as manager admits target could be sold

According to The Independent, AS Monaco’ manager Leonardo Jardim has opened the possibility of a potential January transfer of Liverpool target Thomas Lemar.

After the departure of Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool will have to invest heavily to bring a suitable replacement for Brazilian wizard.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is looking for a quality attacking midfielder, and Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez are the most likely candidates to take Coutinho’s place.

The 22-year-old Frenchman has been on Liverpool’s radar since last summer, but some recent reports have suggested that Reds won’t make a move for him in January.

However, Leonardo Jardim has opened a possible January exit for his star player in a recent interview: “We are not used to selling in the winter, but the transfer window lasts until the end of the month and many things can happen.”

Lemar impressed during the last season in League One, and he was also one of the best players along with Kylian Mbappe in Monaco’s Champions League hike.

Arsene Wenger is also a great admirer of Monaco’ winger, and if Klopp wants to bring the player to Anfield, he will have to beat a severe competition from Arsenal.
