Norwich City defender Russell Martin has confirmed that he is likely to leave his current club on loan this month amid reports of interest from Rangers.
Despite being club captain, Martin has struggled to earn regular game time for the Canaries this season and has made just several appearances.
“I’m not sure where the destination is but the likelihood is I will go out on loan,” Martin told BT Sport’s live coverage of Norwich v Chelsea on Saturday evening.
Rangers boss Graeme Murty reportedly wants to bring Martin to his club as they look to rebuild.
Given that Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso have been linked with moves away from the Gers this month, Murty could be short of options and have only Danny Wilson, David Bates and Ross McCrorie as his recognized central defenders.
Given his experience at the highest level, Martin could be a good signing for the Gers.
