According to reports, Southampton are considering a possible £10 million swoop for Stuart Armstrong after they failed to sign the player during the summer transfer window.
The Saints made an inquiry about the player during the summer but were declined by the Hoops who were focusing on their Champions League campaign for this season.
The 25-year old Armstrong has been in and out of the Celtic first team this season having made just 12 starts in the League and the Brendan Rodgers side may consider selling him if they receive a good offer.
Armstrong left Dundee to join Celtic in 2015 as part of a £2 million deal that saw him and Gary Mackay- Stevens join the Hoops.
Armstong may be open to the move considering the lack of playing time that he is receiving under Rodgers this season as well as due to the lure of playing Premier League football.
