According to reports, Celtic are interested in signing Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge this month but may have to compete with Newcastle United in the race to sign him.
Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers is familiar with Sturridge and previously worked with him while he was managing Liverpool.
Sturridge would be a good signing for the Hoops and there is no doubt that he will bolster the side who look headed to win yet another Scottish Premiership title this season.
The 28-year old will be keen to play as regularly as possible during the second half of the season as he looks to make the England squad for the 2018 World Cup.
What could however work against the Hoops aim to sign him is the fact that many do consider the SPL to be a less competitive League and as a result Sturridge may prefer to join an English team as that will increase his chances of being called up by Gareth Southgate for Russia 2018.
