Scottish Daily Record reports that Scottish defender Russell Martin wants to leave Championship side Norwich City for Rangers.
Martin arrived at Norwich back in 2010 and quickly established himself as a regular starter and after brilliant performances, he earned himself a captain’s armband.
The experienced 32-year-old centre-back wants to change the air after 7 years in England, and his biggest desire is to play for Rangers.
The former Wycombe Wanderers player has dropped out from the first team this season, and played most of the time with youth squad in Premier League Two.
Gers’ manager Graeme Murty needs some proven defender, as Bruno Alves is about to leave the club this January – the occasional Scottish international could be the ideal replacement.
Rangers’ football director Mark Allen has also listed Martin as one of the possible candidates to strengthen the defense.
Given the circumstances, the eventual arrival of the experienced defender at Ibrox could occur very soon.
