Rangers reportedly near completion of the signing of EPL attacker

The Scottish Daily Record have broadcasted the news from Record Sport Online about the imminent transfer of English winger Jamie Murphy from Brighton & Hove Albion to Rangers.

The same source reports that Murphy has passed medicals yesterday and will now sign a three-year contract with the Gers.

The former Motherwell player was a subject of interest for Rangers manager Graeme Murty for quite some time, and the transfer is finally be about to complete.

Murphy has great crossing ability, he is known for his speed and acceleration, and is expected to solve Rangers’ issues on the flank.

The 28-year-old is a versatile player that can also play as a second striker and attacking midfielder. The lack of an attacking threat was exactly where the Rangers had the most problems in the first half of the season.

Murphy’s transfer to Ibrox will be one of many that are expected to happen in January as Rangers are looking to close the gap on current leaders Celtic.
