Newcastle dealt huge blow in their pursuit of 22-year-old EPL left-back

As per M.E.N, Newcastle’s chances of landing Manchester United’s left-back Luke Shaw have been dealt a blow following the youngster’s recent upswing in fortunes.

The 22-year-old has forced his way back into manager Jose Mourinho’s first team picture with recent performances, and will now stay until the end of the campaign as opposed to the initial exit plans.

Newcastle wanted Shaw on loan till the end of the campaign as it earlier appeared the England international had no chances of getting back into the first-team squad at Old Trafford.

The recent developments, however, means the Tyneside outfit will have to focus their plans of landing a left-back elsewhere.

Manager Rafa Benitez’s first-choice in the position heading into the campaign Paul Dummett only recently returned from a 4-month injury layoff, but it’s no longer clear if the Spaniard is still seeking for reinforcements in the department.

With strengthening the attack and midfield of more priority and given Newcastle’s lack of funds, they might just have to ditch any plans of buying a left-back if they aren’t able to secure a loan deal for any.
