Everton reportedly join in on the race for experienced left-back

Everton have joined in on the race for Meixico left-back Miguel Layun, with many now expecting the Toffees to complete the signing of the Mexican international before the end of the month.

Everton are looking for a new left-back in the market to replace the ageing Leighton Baines and the Toffees have now identified Porto’s left back Miguel Layun to be the ideal signing.

Layun shares an attacking nous similar to Baines and at 29, the Mexican is into the peak of his career -which could make him an immediate fit for the Toffees.

Layun also has the experience of having previously played in the Premier League with Watford, which means the Mexican will not be daunted by the prospect playing in the competitive English top flight.

Should this transfer do through, Layun could represent a good signing and he could help Everton consolidate their place in the top half of the table.
