Celtic have completed the signing of St Mirren midfielder Lewis Morgan on a four-and a half year deal, it has been confirmed. The 21-year-old’s move to the Scottish Champions was finalized on Thursday afternoon.
He will return to St Mirren on loan till the end of the season to help the club in their aims to win promotion from the Ladbrokes Championship.
Morgan has been one of the best players in the Scottish second tier this season and has gone on to score nine goals and provide five assists from 20 League games.
He becomes the Hoops second signing this month after they also signed Marvin Compper from RB Leipzig.
“I’m delighted,” he said upon the completion of the transfer. “With the manager and the players they have I felt that was the best place for me to develop further and I’m looking forward to the challenge.
“I knew where my future lay and I was at peace with it. It probably gives me that peace of mind from others asking me what was happening.”
