The Birmingham Mail have conveyed the news from Newcastle Chronicle about a possible encounter between Aston Villa and Leeds United for the services of Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback, who is on a way out from St James’ Park.
The 28-year-old midfielder has been sidelined this whole season by the manager Rafael Benitez, with Jonjo Shelvey, Matt Ritchie, and Mikel Merino were all favored over him.
Aston Villa’s manager Steve Bruce has decent midfield options at his disposal, but he is looking to add some additional quality.
On the other hand, Thomas Christiansen wants to strengthen Leeds’ midfield and attack during the January transfer window, and the experienced former Ipswich Town player seems like a feasible solution.
As Colback has not played a single minute this season, the midfielder will probably leave the Magpies in January.
