As per Sky Sports, West Ham United are very much keen on bringing Stoke City midfielder Joe Allen to east London during the ongoing transfer window.
Manager David Moyes wants to bring in at least 1 or 2 reinforcements in order to boost his side’s survival chances, and he reckons the £15million-rated ex-Liverpool man can be a timely addition.
The trio of Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi, Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho and Newcastle’s Jonjo Shelvey are also midfield targets for the Hammers, but Allen’s quality and Premier League experience make him the best option.
With the Potters involved in the relegation scrap themselves, it’s hard to see under-fire boss Mark Hughes allowing the Welsh international leave.
West Ham, though, will likely keep pushing their luck and testing Stoke’s resolve in order to land their man.
Allen’s creativity is a quality and feature the Hammers midfield can do with, as his ability to link the defence with the attack with a single pass key to unlocking the playmaking genius in Manuel Lanzini.
Pulling off his signing could prove to be a great move come season ending for West Ham, but it remains to be seen if such is possible.
