Former Liverpool defender turned pundit Jamie Carrager has suggested a reasonable solution to handle the Philippe Coutinho transfer situation.
Coutinho has been linked with a move to Barcelona since the start of the season and this rumor has persisted throughout the year.
This continuity of rumor means that Barcelona are serious in their pursuits and will possibly land the Brazilian midfielder in the near future.
Considering the pulling power of Barcelona, it is understandable that Liverpool are preparing for life without Coutinho already and many associated with the club are now worried that the Reds will not be able to get the best deal for the Brazilian.
As a result, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carrager has suggested a simple solution to ensure that Liverpool will benefit the most from the Brazilian’s move and dictate the terms from the Reds’ perspective sale.
Carrager stated on Twitter, “Best thing @LFC is agree the BIG fee for Coutinho to go in the summer like we’ve done with Keita. What do the club gain by doing it now?
“Top 4 & CL progression seriously risked if they sell in Jan, & difficult to replace him now. If he goes on strike he damages himself.”
