According to Bet Victor, Tottenham and Everton are joint-favourites to sign Newcastle star Jonjo Shelvey this month, while West Ham is firmly behind them in the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Despite being a crucial member of the Toons starting XI since arriving from Swansea, Shelvey’s disciplinary issues have forced manager Rafa Benitez to make do without his services on a couple of occasions.
As a result, there is belief that there is an outside chance of the midfielder leaving this month.
However, it remains to be seen if a return to Spurs is realistic given the plethora of quality midfield options available to manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The Toffees, though, could do with another well experienced powerhouse in deep midfield, and Shelvey ticks all the boxes.
The Hammers are the ones that have been linked with a likely move, however, with reports claiming the England international, an east-London born and West Ham fan could be tempted into agreeing to a move if one comes.
Shelvey’s exit midway through the campaign will be a huge blow to Newcastle, though, and it is highly unlikely that Benitez will actually consider letting his man go for any reason whatsoever.
